I upped my Pilot Jets a size, and have upped mains 3 x's, I think now. The pilots changed the whole tone of the system, I thought, richening it up and fattening up the soundtrack.
I'm pretty sure you can rejet and experiment all you want, but I'm not sure whether or not you get to the point of minimal performance gain for excess fuel economy lost. I'm not quite sure where the lines cross.
I know I could go bigger on mains now. I still have a lag on WOT and though she's accelerating when I crack her open, if I roll off WOT just a hair, she picks up more steam. But I love the way she runs, and it's too much trouble (for me, anyway) to pull the carbs/jets again without a better reason to.
But I have NEVER has a problem with the way she ran in ANY comfiguration. She just makes me happy!
