I did exactly the same thing, muttering the whole time - "who designed this stupid arrangement, probably need a special seat bolt wrench". Once I got the seats off, the freak brackets were a piece of cake, at least there weren't any extra fasteners laying around. Wait, did I just admit that out loud???
