Well that is an apt description. Its aftermarket as its not the original OEM equipment and like a lot of aftermarket stuff it costs more and has advantages and disadvantages.
I was told the average cost of a BK prosthetic is around 25K give or take. I heard that from the prosthetist who has been shaping and compressing my stump. Thank God I have insurance.
An above the knee amputation is much more complex and expensive for those things due to a need for a new knee.
