I've done just under 1700 kms over a weekend on the bike one up. No problems at all.
Bill in Ottawa drove his across Canada and the States several times.
The only problem you will have trying to drive 500 miles will be the delays everytime you stop for gas/food. People will stop you and ask countless questions about the bike. It is a magnet.
