If you are looking for an environmentally friendly method use Corn Meal or Corn Grits. Sprinkle around the mound not on the mound. Disturbing the mound can make them move to another location. The ants eat the corn starch or meal and then when they ingest water they swell up and die.
Borax works great, my dad used it.
Best method, Gasoline!
Best of luck!
Wow, I'm kind'a shocked here! I would've bet that you would've told Frank to do somethin' like the following, Mr. Goldberg:
First, build yourself a long ramp which will be for the bowling ball that'll run down that ramp, which when it gets to the bottom of that ramp will trigger a mousetrap that'll spring and trip a wire that hits a light switch, which will then turn on a 100W light bulb that'll then....well....you get the idea here, right?!
I mean, you ARE the master of these kind'a "solutions" to certain problems in life, aren't cha???!!!
(...actually Frank, yep, the Borax route works pretty well around here in AZ...but then again, you've got yourself a whole lot o' really different and strange little critters down there, so who knows for sure if this'll work for you TOO, eh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
