My trip just got extended. I don't have to be to work until Monday the 13th! WOOHOO! What to do... what to do... I'm already planning on Grand Junction, CO, after Prescott. Maybe I'll head over to Denver. See if I have any friends left there.

Should be ready some time next week. Will do a test drive to make sure everything's okey-doke, then decide if I want to lower it about 1 - 1.5" Next items will be Maxxis w/wall tires.
Short answer - I'll be there!

Lessee... I have to, at minimum:
- Arrange and secure the wiring above the new battery box and put the new battery in - clean and oil the K&Ns and install with safety wire - Install tank (and emblems and dash)300 - Install seats
And that's just to ride. Then to travel there's saddlebags, luggage rack, windvest, etc. etc. etc. I'll try to squeeze in the engine bars, centerstand, oil temp gauge, oil and filter change... um, and 50 other things...

I'm tracking my to do's. My schedule is so packed but if I get those first two things done I'm golden. The rest is cake (and those two aren't real hard). I hope my new pipes get here. They're the pièce de résistance (No spitting, I'm part French. Suck it. ).

I am planning on catching up with Big Jack and Engage down in Iowa, and finding our way across Texas and New Mexico I suspect. I am planning on heading north on the way home to see new country and maybe visit some family in Montana! I want to see the Badlands and Montana. Only thing I am not looking forward to is is the Dakota lean on the way home. I am really getting excited, this is the only hoorah I get this year so I am going to make the most of it. I am hoping to have a grand adventure!

I hear you Paul. I have to mount a front tire and change out my clutch plates. The cost is about what you will pay for your rear tire.

I got a deal on my rear tire from Jake Wilson for $109.99, probably less then what you are paying for your front.

Yeah Paul, but word is Jake puts 'em on his Harley and puts about 3000 miles on 'em before he sells 'em to unsuspecting folks like YOU!!!!

Eeh! Not to worry, Paul. Ya see, because Jake puts 'em on his Harley, the ONLY part of 'em that's a little worn is right down the middle of 'em, and so there STILL usually is that part of 'em off to the sides which hasn't ever touched the asphalt!!!

I'm seriously thinking about going to Yosemite Park and over to the Pacific Coast Highway in Ca for a couple of days before I hit Prescott. Dwight are there going to be any rides on Friday or is it a day to let folks roll in?

PCH and Yosemite...cooooool! And re Friday...actually no, I hadn't planned on a ride for that day 'cause, as you mentioned, that'll be when a lot of folks will be rollin' in. But, if you and a few others who'll already be here by Friday morning will want to venture out on your own that day, then I can direct you to some really cool local mountain and hillside roads around here that you and whoever can explore.

I've been checking out the lodgings at the Grand Canyon. Seems like the Bright Angel Lodge and all others in the park are booked for June 1st. However there are lodgings 11 miles south off of 64 in Tusayan AZ. Starting at $133 at the Red Feather Lodge and going up to the $170 range at the Grand Hotel. Ka Ching Fingers crossed. Thank goodness it is a short ride that day. When in Dodge City the Wyatt Earp Inn is $70 after tax. I called them yesterday and the lady seemed real nice. Not yota'ish but nice in a well non yota way! A lot of other choices for rooms there too. Durango has some lodgings one of which is the Iron Horse Inn for $89 + tax and the Caboose Motel $84, the Days End Motel has rooms for $49...

here are the cabins I was talking about http://durangoriversideresort.com/off-season_298.htmlnot very practical for you all after all. You will need too much stuff while you are there. The cabins are pretty bare but the site is pretty damn nice

If you send them over the 96-97-93 ride they can meet up with the Vegas contingent. I'll post approximate times as we get closer.

Say Paul, If you are going to Yosemite and PCH, that means you will be traveling near here, where AmyLee and I live. We are about 75 miles from Yosemite and about 120 miles from Monterey/Carmel Ca. We will be heading to Prescott on Wednesday the 1st of June. If your in the neighborhood prior to Prescott we can met up if you have the time. Bob

I think we all are carrying bed rolls/sleeping bags air mattresses thermarest ... This could work. The only thing being is that 600 miles might have us looking for a hotel room. I'll save this as a zumo favorite and give them a call when we are 100 miles out.
