What will be happening at the SWTF? Is it a few members from this site having a get-together or is it more like sturgis? I live in Fresno, Ca. and the wife and I can make it there in a days ride. Can anyone show up? Are most people camping or moteling? How many people will be there? From what I read it seems like about 30 members. Can someone please enlighten this rookie.
Some good questions there, Bart.
As bigbill said, the Southwest Triumph Fest is more, as your first idea above noted, "members from this site having a get-together".
Regarding what will be happening over the weekend...the main Saturday ride will consist of a jaunt over a couple of mountains, first from Prescott to the old hillside mining town and now artist colony of Jerome AZ...and then on to one of the most spectacular spots in all America, the town of Sedona AZ which is surrounded by red rock monoliths...and then up through Oak Creek Canyon from there to Flagstaff...and then back down on Lake Mary Road to Camp Verde...and then back to Prescott. In all, a little over a 200 mile ride.
As it presently stands, it appears there will be about 30 or so folks showing up this year from all parts of the country. Some will be camping out in my and my wife's(Judie) home, and some will be staying in local motels.
And yep, it would be a pleasure to have you and your wife join us here for this year's SWTF!!!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
