I realize its not even Christmas yet, but my calendar is filling up already, and I don't want to miss out again this year!!!
So, Dwight, have you thought about dates for SWTF? I am willing to help out, but need dates to put on my calendar!!!

Just wondering.
Becky

Funny you should mention this, Becky. I had planned to post the following tomorrow, but seein' as how you've brought it up... ...

As the last few years some of our regular attendees have been meetin' with less than decent ridin' weather in their home states in order to get here during the time I've had the rally in May, I've been kickin' around the idea to move the 2011 Southwest Triumph Fest back to early June instead...like maybe the weekend of June 3-5. That would be the weekend after Memorial Day weekend.

And so, what say all? Any thoughts about this, and would this be agreeable to most of the regulars and hopefully those who might be contemptin' their first trip to beautiful mile-high Prescott Arizona in 2011?

Granted the weather is a lot less volatile at that time. Don't change things on my account Dwight. The valley gets a bit hot that time of year though does it not?

The weekend after Memorial Day works for me. I can take that whole week off and make a real pest of myself down south.

And, how about seein' if you can get that No Account brother o' yours down there in Sandy Eggo to "pencil"(though, I'm MUCH prefer it be in INK, however ) this in on HIS calender TOO, Soren?!

Yep! It sure IS "about time", Paul!!!

OR...as Horace Greeley famously said..."Go[to the South] West [Triumph Fest], young man!"

(...okay...he said somethin' like that, anyway!)

Donny and I have actually been talking seriously about it. I'm hoping my son will be able to get off work to come with us on his TBA. Go west through the Panhandle of OK through Northern NM then take a left at the Grand Canyon. What could be simpler then that. Did I mention we don't like slabs.

I don't blame ya, Paul! I'm not particularly fond of the Superslabs myself. Gimme a twisty ol' meanderin' road out there in the middle of nowhere, and that's where I'm the happiest, too!

However, sometimes I suppose it IS kind'a nice that good ol' Dwight D. Eisenhower got them Interstates done, 'cause if ya gotta get a long way in the shortest amount o' time, they DO come in pretty handy sometimes, don't they?!

Well, first Ron, it isn't just for you that I've been thinkin' o' doin' this. Mike and Bob, out there on the western slopes of the Colorado Rockies, "haven't exactly" been meetin' with the greatest of ridin' weather while tryin' to get their collective butts down here the last few years in the month of May, EITHER!!!

And secondly, yep, it IS startin' to get kind'a warm down in the Phoenix area in June, however I'm thinkin' as long as we stay up here in the mountains of northern Arizona, we should still meet with some pretty temperate climes while ridin' to gorgeous Sedona and points beyond.

Dwight -
That works for me.
I will probably whine about the heat down the hill in Prescott, but I will manage!!!!
So I am putting it on my calendar, and let me know what I can do to help!! My time is both more my own and less my own now that I have opened my own practice, so I can adjust my schedule a little so as to help you and Judy out getting ready.
Becky

And so folks, it appears we've reached an overall agreement that the 2011 Southwest Triumph Fest will be the weekend after the Memorial Day Weekend....Friday June 3rd through Sunday June 5th!

I want to be in that group.
Nothing definite for me just yet. I'm gonna try and convince the wife to fly out there and I can pick her up at the airport. June 3 is her birthday, so it might be some delicate planning...

Sweet. That would be great Ron and Dave.

Since Becky is in private practice now, maybe she could negotiate our release from jail if we get arrested for something.

Okay.. I'm in too.... Got it on top of my "see if I can make this thing happen" list so for now we'll call it a plan. Got a hunch some more east coasters may be headed that way as well so this could be the start a major migration west...

Seems like I am retracing nobby's 'tour merica' base lines 6/7 years hence. Sun Studios in Memphis, a bit of Rt 66. That little ole canyon somewhere North of Prescott...

If I'm looking at it right, the distance from the Sierra Inn to the SWTF HQ at the base of the baby hill is like .8 miles.
