I have been using them, this maks my third year. They are pretty good, but I built hand guards out of plexiglass to go in front of the grips, and that improves the efficency alot. last year i rode down into the "teens", and only my thumbs were cold. i found that rotating my thumbs up, to rap around the grips with my fingers, presses the wires against my thumbs and that helps. My commute is 25 miles eack way and it's in the dark both ways almost all winter. I can honestly say, without them I'd be in the car. Below 25* degrees my hands still get cold after half way, but not to the point that I am in pain. They are very bulky and even tiring to hold on to the bars after a while. They should have made them with the fingers pre-bent.
I'm thinking , next year I'll try Gerbings gloves. A little more money, but build to mil.spec. The micro-wire teck. is supposed to be better and costomer service is supposed to be second to none.
If your going to ride in the cold you have to get heated gloves. I give the First Gear gloves a 7.5, out of 10.
