the talk around these parts as far as keeping warm (and this applies to both bike and sled riders) is if you keep your torso warm, the extremities will not get cold so easily. The logic is that the body does not have to shut down blood flow to the arms and legs in order to preserve the central core.

I've heard that too, but I'm just not buying it. I have a jacket that keeps my torso comfortable (w/ appropriate layers) down into the 20's, but my fingers get painfully cold long before that unless I supply some heat source to them. I'm comfortable sitting in my heated house right now, but my fingers are cold to the touch...putting gloves on my cold hands just doesn't seem to "warm them up," and warming up my torso also doesn't seem to result in warmer fingers. My guess is it's just an individual thing?

Back to the Tourmaster gloves, I also just saw these this week when I was looking for gloves. And I have the same questions as Bill. The price looks great compared to Gerbings gear, but I'd hate to drop $150+ for something that I'm not satisfied with. Hopefully someone who's given them a try will chime in soon.
