Well Graham, it sounds as if you might have heard that old story which says that after this tragic news broke and while all of America was shedding real tears, the ones being shed at 10 Downing Street were more of the crocodile variety.
Though, considering by the time of the Pearl Harbor(<-no u
) attack, just about the only thing the man who resembled the English Bulldog could hang his hat on by that time was the sinking of the Bismarck by His Majesty's brave naval forces earlier in that year, I think we Yanks can cut ol' Winston a little slack for him possibly shedding those tears without total sincerity, eh?!
