Had Pearl Harbour not occurred I wonder how WW2 would have played out and what standing the USA would have had in the post war world.
Would the USA have remained neutral? Definetly from a British perspective we would have struggled badly without the USA and so would the Soviet Union.
So without the Japanese attack and the subsequent German declaration of war on the USA, the world may be a different place and the USA may not have the international influence that it has now.
Anyhow it was still a nasty shock and as in all wars a tragic loss of life.
