I think this is the camp ground the guys found last year. The owners said they would put us down by the river away from the other guests so we do not disturb anyone with our late night chit-chat. http://www.etowahrivercampground.com/home

Yeah, Nina and I have stayed at Etowah river. Just go past Wash Rider on Oak Grove and keep going... It is very near the end of the road.

Chy I know it's been said before but Thank you to you and Di (and lets not forget Larry and his lovely bride) For all you have done...because of your efforts I have met some phenomenal people whom I am proud to count as my friends...were it not for you that would never have happened! Thank you again!

1) I work too hard and thus am never here much
2) I was in really good shape in 2008. What happened?
3) I love me some Chy and Di

If I was to die tomorrow, I could face my maker and say that I made it to a GA rally. And, I've got that going for me. Uncle Charlie

Chy and Di, What else could I add to what's already been said. Maybe I just never checked the other Rally posts before like I did the GA. Rally's, but it really stung not going all those years before 2009. And I always checked the thread afterwards for pics so it seems, in a way, that I was kind of there anyway, cause I was rootin' for you guys. And the trips there and back the last two years have truly been epic for me, in many more ways than I could count here. Anyway, God Bless ya'll and the whole BA.com bunch, and I do look forward to seeing more details about early May, 2011. When location(S) are established and reservations start being made, it can't be soon enough for me. I do plan to be there!

Keith no need to fret. I think the Ga. Rally has been moved to Arizona this year. Check the SWTF thread and I think you will recognize a few names. Just turn left on I-40 instead of right

Wait a second did you say the first week in May? I looked at the camp website. $20 for 4 people w/electric $15 w/o per night, that's not too bad.

Now that Belinda is running again, I am looking forward to early May. Looking forward to showing y'all what a 4 year old and his friends can do to a painted tank. Moe, let's plan it out and skedaddle on up to God's country (sorry Uncle Charlie).

Sounds good Ryan! Closer to the date we'll do some figuring. I intend to camp. But the ride up can take us through lot's of God's country! I won't be taking a week off though. More like ride up. Hang for a day (maybe two) then ride back. So 3 or 4 days. Given the SWTF at the end of the month (more or less) I'm thinking 3 days. We could blast up Providence Canyon then stop long enough on Walt Sanders Memorial Drive to take a picture. All in a days ride. Or we could blast North a goodly ways then take some of those back-roads that we have never rolled before!

Now that I have moved back from Arizona and live only 31 miles from Dahlonega, I find the Etowah River Campgrounds a nice camping option. I will be able to provide a 6x10 trailer for storage & security for distant riders, a big 3-4 person tent (unless my wife comes, I'll use the single), a popup 10x10 enclosed canvas shelter (maybe 2), A gas grill, 4-6 chairs (maybe 8) and I can bring a generator but the sites have electricity and water. I couldn't find if the campground offered showers. I will also be able to bring quite a bit of food and drink and coolers. If it is still on I am excited to hit the mountains. I have been up in them several times since I moved back East. I will be on my Tiger and leave the Bonneville America at home. Hope no one is offended. WIll take May 5-9 off. It seems all plans are tentative. Hope things solidify.

rode up there last weekend. Checked out the campsite area. didnt see the cabins you were talkin about but visited the campsite area. took a ride up wash rider road but its been so long since I was there last that nothing looked familiar. I need a damn tour guide but did a good job driving around the mountain roads off 60. Yota do you really have a tiger or is that what you call your BA?
