Years ago when I lived in Portsmouth, NH the only time I saw an accident in one of the traffic circles was when someone from Massachusetts was involved. Back then New Hampshire and Maine had, as today, the traffic in the circle having the right of way, and traffic entering the circle had to yield. Massachusetts on the other hand had it the other way around. Which they changed in the mid 80's to conform with all the other states around them.
