All this discussion and no practical methods of dog avoidance? Seems to me (and from experience) that one needs to take away the two advantages of dogs:Speed and vector. Get them to trot or at least slow down. That means you have to slow down. When the dog gets amidships, stretch the throttle cables!

For a pack of dogs, hum, might have to reconsider that approach. For dogs that are sitting in the middle of the road, slowing down and gunning it still works. For those canines on the road in a blind curve, all bets are off.

What really sucks is after you successfully avoid a couple of dogs, you find out the street you are on is a dead end.
