Here, we have a huge stray dog population.
Lots of people get puppies (they are soooo cute, right), then when they grow to bo too big to stay in their tiny apartment, they are just thrown on the street somewhere far from home.
Good thing rabies is not present here, or we'd have a huge problem!
Them dogs love to sleep on the warm asphalt at night ... and they don't move when you approach (I guess they are suicidal and want to end their "dog life"!) so you can picture this one: a few black dogs, sleeping in the middle of the unlit road, at night... hummm.
