I wanna get rid of the big ****** brackets and mount the pegs right to the swing arm. I was wondering if anyone has done this. I know it may change the passengers comfort level but I saw one guy who I don't see around here anymore did this.

pain is temporary, pride is forever.

Getting rid of those peg hangers is not a problem... just take 'em off. I did that, then mounted the pegs where the pipe brackets bolt to the frame. It puts the pegs at swing arm height without actually using the swing arm (which might be kinda weird for the passenger). All the gals I've had on the back said they were comfortable.

Live to love, love to live.

Ditto mountainmans suggestion.Thats what I did with mine as well. The bonus is they can be used by the driver for foot positioning as well for the benefit of being able to change positions for comfort. They screw right into the mounting holes for pipe brackets but I had to play around with different thickness washers to get them tight at the position I wanted them.
