Rubber is expensive in Australia...
Would hate to see the price on condoms!
Shinko is usually the step up from gluing rubber on old tyres yourself. Or is it Sheng Shin... I keep forgetting!
I believe Kenda is a notch better, then Maxxis got nice tyres at a good price.
Good luck!

I'm using Kenda's, cost me about $250 for both of them, fitted and they've not given me any problems. You anywhere near Brisbane/Ipswich? Can give you the number of my tyre guy, always does good prices and knows more about tyres than you could imagine.

Hey Frank....do what I did.....just drove down to the States and picked up a pair of Metzlers for $248 while on vacation......What's wrong, too lazy to DRIVE to the biggest discount location in the world...... That's what you get for being able to drive year round....AHH THAT FEELS GOOD. Seriously, no experience with the brand you mentioned. Sorry.

Man, after reading the other posts, the majority of them from fellow Aussies and one from Percy near there, there is no sympathy or love loss between you guys. What did you do to tick these dear friends off???? Repent.... Oh...really did like Percy's response the best though....had a good laugh over that one.

I like IRC Wild Flare for the rear and would put one up front but don't want to mess with my fender. Put a Michlin on Wendy's bike up front and it seems to be working well. I replaced the junk her bike came with. That crappy Bridgestone was causing a wobble with lots of tread still on it and it didn't have a visually uneven wear on it either.

I put up grade bridgestones 11r's on mine they are holding up great and gip the road really well they even seem to handle the rain well. they were about $275. they were the only match set the store had in my size at the time. Not the triumph dealer I didn't like any tire thay had at the time and their install fee is to much. got them from a sport bike place called Hole shots. they service and work on sport bikes and dirt bikes. Its a pretty cool place they use micro bead balancing system no more ugly wieghts on the wheel.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I just fitted a set of Kenda Kruz tires; I really like them so far. I am no speed demon or knee dragger, they fit me perfectly and save me some money every year.

Frank Just be warned....any information coming your way this .....ahem.....winter from your Canadian friends....and some of the more Northernly Yanks may not be accurate...... Example; if you were interested in the torque specs for, say, the spark plugs.....I might say 236 ft/lbs..... Not that I'd want to mislead you..... ... UNDERSTAND????? 28 DEGREES....

I knew when I wrote that, you couldn't resist an answer like that.
We do have the good side and the bad side to our weather.
Today 29c. Thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast.
That might make you feel better.
Todays ride cancelled.

Okay Frank... maybe we can cut you some slack but only if you behave. I reckon you just don't know any better 'cause if you did you'd have some empathy for the deep, dark depths of depression and doom we drop to during December and beyond. After spending time too long in lifeless, lost and lonely landscapes we listlessly lament... longing to lift life and limb from the lasting lull of winter. Yet we fight fear, fever, the fallibility of falling further into feeling frozen, feeble, forlorn and forsaken... far from the fame and fortune of summer, far from the feeling of freedom as the falcon flies. The cold, the collapse, the chronicles of Canadians cuddled close out of care and compassion. We suffer, we sink, we slump under snow as it slowly surrounds our sanctuaries and schools. So tell you what Frank... lighten up and show some compassion. Geeze, this ain't easy ya know!

We used to be terrible at allitteration here in Oz - couldn't see the kangaroos for the clutter and carelessly cast-aside consonants - but then we cleaned the countryside up - and you can see a bit of green now and then - shot and ate all the roos too.

WRONG......I've gone over to the wet side.
Rain again all day. I started this thread about tyres, I don't know why I bothered.
I'm thinking about trading the Speedy in on a Jet Ski.

Since I started this thread we have had one dry day.
On that day I went for a ride with a couple of mates.
I ordered a pair of Avons (Expensive but I know they will stick to the road) they are the shop waiting for me to go and get them fitted.
