Thunder storms all last night and it is snowing now. Wish they'd hurry up with that global warming stuff. I'll have to drive the 4WD and go the long way around to work on the mostly paved roads.

Thanks,

We have one of those 2"-5" Winter weather watches in the mix for today. Translation; I'll watch it out the living room window later this afternoon. A woodstove makes winter less wintery.

If I remember correctly, the SW high desert has more winter than the inland NW.

I gotta get me one o' those. Snowing in the high country but down here in the valley just rain. Winter is just another ways of saying... "Yeah... I get to work in my bike!" and ski too of course.

We're having a heat wave. Mid 40s today. Snow on the mountains all around the valley, though.

it's 72 and clear. suppose to be that way for the next week.
that is why a 1100sqft house costs $450000.
but it is really cold in the am, about 36deg.

If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

I'm doing my best to postpone the inevitiable, and this weekend the weather is cooperating! It made it to the upper 50's today. First time on the bike in a week and managed to put on @150 miles. As a bonus, during my ride I ran into Pat (Dinqua) and his lovely wife Jane at the gas station in Honeoye. They were filling their tanks after puting in some stabil, and we wound up going for a nice ride. Tomorrow, we could see the low 60s here, so I hope to do it all over again.
I am pretty sure this will be the last hurrah for the year. Its way frosty every morning (I hate the cold), next weekend's forescast is snow and around 40. and the bike goes into the basement Thanksgiving day. I'll take a final ride Thanksgiving day if it isnt raining or snowing, but its usually a *very* short ride.

32 degrees celsius here today. Fantastic riding but very hot when you stop. 10.30 at night now and sitting here in shorts and sweaty. Might have to sink another cold one before I retire tonight.

We've been lucky so far with minimal snow fall. Roads have been salted though. The bike is put away.

Going to take up cross country skiing this year. I used to be an avid downhill skier but the one hill we have only has 350 feet of vertical. A trip to Whistler erased any desire to continue skiing there. Could use the exercise.

Hey Greg... where did you do your downhill skiing back in the day? Not in Northern Ontario for sure!! As for x-country skiing, it is a fantastic way to get out and enjoy the season. For me it even helps to look forward to winter.

Kamiskotia ski hill is just 20km from town. It was the home of Cathy and Laurie Kreiner. Both were former champions, Kathy a former gold medalist for Canada in the Olympics. She was also a bridesmaid in our wedding many years ago.

So, even though the hills are mild by BC standards, the small Northern Ontario group population still leave their legacy in skiing, music, hockey....Shania Twain, the Kreiners, Frank Mahovalich, Allan Stanley, Tim Horton, Dean Prentice, etc etc.

BTW, what were we talking about......

It's still nice here (South Texas) during the day, but the mornings and evenings are cold! We went to the Lone Star Rally a few weekends ago, and FROZE all the way home. It inspired me to make a ski mask sort of hat. I'll post a pic later. I'm not a fan of Freezing!
