I've removed two baffles from each pipe and am going to remove the snorkel. I'm not reallly looking for more hp but want to balance the extra air flow with a little more fuel. Can I enrichen the mixture a little by replacing my stock needles with TBS needles and maybe a shim or do I have to rejet. changing the needles appears to be much easier and I am a little hesitant about the rejetting project but will tackle it if that is the answer. I would appreciate any feeedback

You never have to rejet, unless you want to get as close to max efficiency as possible. With your setup, I would recommend using 130 mains, TBS needles, no shims. A decent starting point. Read the Mikuni tuning guide, or Peter Jenks guide, to see where the various jets and carb circuits work in the throttle positions.

I think you need to re-jet...
The hardest and scariest part about rejetting is really identifying which jets are which when you first take the float bowls off. That's one reason it's a little easier with the carbs OFF the bike, but you can do it without removing them. Just GET the allen head screws, and don't overtighten them when you put them in.

or...just ride down to Georgia this May, jetting 202 will be in session. (101 and 102 were last season, we grew...) Parts and tools readily available. Experience is worth the ride. Or the ride is worth the experience? Darn, which was that?

now that sounds tempting.Actually any thing in May sounds good now as I watch snow continue to fall outside.I hope jetting 101 and 102 are not prerequisites to 202,perhaps a bribe of liquid refreshments can help my missing 101&102 be overlooked.

Definitely worth the trip! I too am hoping the weather holds up for the trip down, winter was a couple months late this year. I may be trying 155's out instead of 160s while I'm there. I also have some 45 pilots (or are those mains?) to try.
