I work/did work for these

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11708451

So I've got some sudden extra time off
As I'm moving house, it'll come in handy

I might run out of money

Hi Bryn - I know just how you feel, not a nice experience. Hope it all works out for the best - for you and the family.

Topic of conversation for me today also but not with the same consequences. Took my mates business for a lot of money but he is, thankfully, covered by insurance. The administrator is confident that a buyer(s) will be found (some of the businesses within the group are profitable) and I sincerly hope for your sake and your work mates.

Best of luck Bryn.

Thanks for the support Gals and Guys, but I don't think it'll too bad for me.

Apprently we're going to be paid to stay at home, but will not be paid for last week. Which is fine with me as last week was a short week for me due to going to the dentist.
Infact, this week would have short too as I'm going to the hospital

What surprised me was how sudden and big it was. All I was expecting was that the branch I worked for would close next March when it lost most of its contracts which were due to end then. I would have TUPE'd over at that point, as the contract I'm on ended then.

When they bought the firm I originally worked for it all went downhill and I hated working for them.

According to the Guardian, the top man rode a Harley, which explains a lot

Just thought I'd give an update

After a load of text's saying firms are interested in buying Warwick branch (the one I worked for), we all got a text this afternoon saying its all fallen through and we are to be laid off

This means I am now released from my contract and can seek alternative employment AND look forward to some redudancy money

The best thing is that I no longer work for a Harley riding accountant

PS, anyone got a cupcake?

It sounds like you're keeping a positive attitude through all of this, Bryn! Sorry to hear about the layoff but now at least you know where you stand. Time for something better!!
