Anyone out there ever tried the 515 cam from TPUSA? The brief wright-up says "...developed to produce good low end + mid range torque without the lost of drivability throughout the entire RPM range." I would be interested to hear from anyone who has any feedback on this cam?

You know what would be nice? If these companies that want you to pony up $700 or so would actually give some useful info on the products they sell.

I have the TPUSA 813's in my 07/865. Other than a bit more valve train noise, there are NO downsides. Personally, I don't think you can do any better than that.

Thunderbike has the dyno sheets for their cams on their site. I wonder why TPUSA doesn't do that?

The chief wrench at my local shop tested TPUSA 813's v. T-bike cams in his personal 904/270, & the 813's did 1 to 2 HP better than the T-bike cams did, just about everywhere.

I'm no expert, but I believe the 813's are the 790 cam grind.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

from what I understand the 813s have more lift and duration than the 790s?

The T-bike cams perform about the same as the 790 cams. As stated above, the 813's do a little better.

As a general rule, I understand that TPUSA does not release the grind spec to those who don't buy the cams. Why? I have my theory, but you need to ask them.

Better cams are necessary for 865's (& 865 based BB's) in order to make the most out of the motor; with 790's, the OEm cams are already good.

What I can tell you with certainty is that I have no regrets with the 813's & would do it again without hesitation.

I do not see the dyno chart for the 270 motors, the only link I find is from the bonneville 360 motor. If there is another link please provide it.

I have been building race(car) motors for around 20 years and for as long as I can remember, when you bought a cam from one of the aftermarket companies you received the spec sheet with it. You could also go to your local speed shop and look up the company and cam specs that you wanted. As a matter of fact, the aftermarket cam makers for Harley engines will give you the specs so you can make an informed decision on what type of cam you'll need for the power band you will be riding in. So why is TPUSA keeping theirs a secret?......Angelis
