Paid a lump sum of the Mortgage, then the same day we received a letter notifying us that the Endowment will be paid – so the house will be ours within the next month but the BEST NEWS of all is that our friend was found “Not Guilty†-- after a 2 year turmoil of not knowing. Life is Good. -- This is a me thing - sorry if you don't understand, but it dose mean a lot to me, so just had to share it.

Does that mean the mortgage is paid off? What do you mean when you refer to the endowment?

Not sure if Im right on this maybe someone will do it better. But you take a mortgage out with an endowment policy. You pay the mortgage interest off but not the loan. You pay into a endowment policy which you hope will pay off the loan at the end of the 25 year term. Which with the banks and shares over the last few years you sometimes come out short of that amount. You was hoping that you ended up with more than you needed , So got some extra ££. I might have it the wrong way round but I think thats how it works short of.  atb geoff

I'd like to say thankyou to Julie,As it was her idea to buy our first property all those years ago!
I was happy back then in a bedsit with motorbike bits on the floor and going to the pub each night,
Now We have our own house with a garage with motorbike bits on the floor,And still going to the pub every night!
