Ya see, I actually watched the 1951 Technicolor version of Jerome Kern's "Showboat" last night on TCM all the way through, and I have to say, I DID enjoy it...though it was probably watchin' Ava Gardner in her prime that REALLY got me hooked from the get-go. Yep, Ava in vivid Technicolor! Do ya blame ME???!!!
