I've ridden my BA into the single digits with no issues. I run Lucas 20w50 semi synthetic MC oil year round. I do let the bike warm up for a minutes or so, long enough to get my helment and gloves on. Not a lot in the way of cold weather gear. 2 pair of thick socks, insulated work boots (Lacrosse) Double layer long johns, flannel pj pants, canvas jeans, t-shirt, sweat shirt, leather jacket,neck gaiter and gloves. No heated grips or plug in clothing. Riding further than to work or no errands I limit my temps to the mid twenties. Also I use my 650L for most cold/inclement weather riding, it catches peoples eye more than my BA (LOUD A** dirt bike on the street effect), better visibility (35.5 inch seat height),it's easier to clean up but mostly it keeps the road salt off my BA.
