I'd like to park my bike at the airport (Dulles/DC) for several days. Anyone ever do this? Was their bike still there when they came back?

Your bike would be safer at home. Nothing will make your day like returning to find it either gone or knocked-over/dinged-up by some slob in a cage three days earlier. You find out how good your insurance is, though. Essentials like your helmet could be missing when you return.
Have a friend drop you off at Dulles instead!

Does sound a little dicey! I don't know if I could sleep while I was away, knowing my beloved Trumpet was left to the whims of chance. Can you just leave 'er at home and catch a lift with a friend as John suggests? Maybe a cab, bus... must be some other way.

Do they have special or segregated paid parking for bikes? Many, many moons ago I worked a second (or third?) job at a parking lot near the old Stapleton airport in Denver. They had a special area for bikes, though there were never many in there. This was long-term parking and it was constantly patrolled and all the vehicles were inventoried every night (my job).

Found out Dulles has a valet section which takes bikes, but problem is it's not covered. At least the theft risk wouldn't be so bad I guess...

Never in a million years . Take a cab. If I got bake and my bike was damaged. I would have to be shot to stop me from destroying the whole town.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Not on a bet, nor will I park it at one of the MARTA lots and take the train. I might leave it in the patrolled deck at my office, but even that would give me the willies.
