I've got something very similar, same technology different maker, and they do give off a lot of heat right at the begining, but gradually cool off and don't last long.

But the main problem is that they harden as the heat dissapates so would be no good in your glove to keep you warm while riding, but they would warm you up if you stopped to use them.
