I saw some vendors offer brighter LED lights for the dash console, but the prices are ridiculous.
Anyone know if auto parts stores or Radio Shack offer similar lights are reasonable prices?

Thanks...I assume it's necessary to remove the "dash cover" to replace the bulbs?

You don't have to remove the gas cap. And you have to unplug the wiring harness. Then pop out the lens using one of your not chewed to the quick fingernails. Then pull out the rubber tube from the back side. Roll the rubber tube on itself (like when you take off your socks and they turn inside out). Just enough to reach the bulb. For reassembly, position the rubber tubes ring onto the console. Then press the lens back in place. Triple check the positioning of both the rubber tube and the lens. A bit of spit helps reinsert the lens. When you reinsert the lens, doing so has a tendency to unseat the rubber tube: Thus the triple check. Okay one down. Repeat as necessary.

I got the three bulb kit from one of our vendors. Fast Eddy I think. I used two on one bike and the third bulb on the other. Turn signals I could care less about. It is the neutral light I want to see when stopped at a red light midday! The engine oil light is another. So one bike has the LED engine oil light and both bikes have the LED neutral lights.

Easy as popping open a beer. 5mm allen wrench. One finger nail (or a sharpened clothespin/pop-sickle stick.) Dang. While you are there, go ahead and wax the tank. And wash the underside of that filthy tank console will ya?

Yeah, I said you don't have to remove the gas cap. I was doing just that until Tom Vance enlighten me as he laughed heartily!

I bought mine from Superbrightleds and they turned out to be crap. After three years or so (and we certainly don't get to ride all year long around here) the ones that light up more (the neutral and the turn signals) were dying already and I don't believe because of the usage. Poor quality is more like the issue here.

A little late to chime in, but I also got the LED's, but I think I got mine from NewSpeedmaster.com. Very easy to install and nice & bright.

The neutral light is too bright at night. Not complaining though. Well not a lot anyways.

The only time YOU see the neutral light is when you pull into or out of the garage!!

The first couple of times when shifting from 1st to second was weird as I was flashed with a green light. Now what's acting up on the ole gal? Oh yeah that darn neutral light!
