I didn't know him, but my father and his father used to ride together. Just the same, there are two young kids who are left without a daddy today.
At least the news didn't just say "was not wearing a helmet".

Sad news but it didn't take long. Another article on it. For some reason the helmet, type of bike etc. seem to be so terribly important here.

They don't bother to say anything about employment, family, good deeds, etc.

Quote:

PIEDMONT — A Piedmont man died after his motorcycle hit the back of a pickup truck late Saturday night.

Kade Stokes, 42, died of blunt-force trauma, said Greenville County Deputy Coroner Scott Ramsey.

Around 10 p.m. Stokes was driving a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Interstate 85 near the 46-mile marker, about 3 miles from Greenville. He struck the back of a 1993 Dodge pickup truck driven by Charles Miller, 45, of Piedmont.

Stokes was ejected from his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

Miller was wearing a seatbelt and had no injuries.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Sorry to hear about the lost friend of your father. I don't think a seat belt helped the truck guy much. I hate that those J#ck a$$es use the misfortune of others to make a spin story. Again my deepest condolences for the loss.

Condolences for the family. Especially for the kids. I quit riding for three years in the early eighties cause I had a baby girl, and I had just rammed a deer. I got back on accidentally later.
