If anything it was probably meant to try and settle things down. Things were already stirred up.

You gotta realize that this site is *mostly* self-policing. The mods only try and step in when things get really out of hand. I don't like to lock or delete threads. I really don't like banning or deleting people. I'd rather let them take their course and work themselves out. It's all part of the process.
