Limitations of the software. Just like I can't bulk delete someones posts (talking about the spammers here) unless they START a thread. And it doesn't remove someone's posts if I delete their account. That might be a good thing, I dunno.

Now, if I could get direct access to the database I could probably cobble together some SQL code to do the things you ask (and what I mentioned above) but I'd have to test it out on a complete copy of the site so I don't risk hosing everything up.

Just don't have the time (or access or authority). I'm too busy babysitting, apparently. Eight years down the road (actually, in two days it will be 7.5 years exactly that Robert Wade asked for a few people to help moderate the original site), it all still comes back to babysitting.
