Nope, I wasn't "runnin' the troll thing into the ground" here, John.
What I was "runnin' into the ground" was that I was proved RIGHT...yet again!!!
(...but then again, you DO know how I've always liked "runnin' THAT into the ground" around here, don't cha???!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I'm not so sure that Harley corner the branding market.
For example at the recent rally at Mallory park the tent selling Triumph branded clothing was packed out by people buying Triumph branded clothing, wallets, notebooks, belts ect ect ect. Admittedly they were not dressed up like gay pirates with bandannas n the like but there is quite a lot of people walking round with Triumph branded clothing about, and i'll even include myself as I have a jacket gloves n tshirts with the logo on.
Yes, I understand I also have some t-shirts and a few other things even a triumph patch on my old school ridin jacket. However I have never seen anyone who rides bikes other than a hardly look like a magazine advert. Much less 300 of them in one place.

I wear band/musicians/artist T's while riding, and motorcycle T's to bars/concerts/musical gatherings.
It adds another element for conversation starters.

Some of my best friends are Harley owners. They all say the same cliché crap. The only one I don't kid is the one who does my tires and ran his specially prepped but mostly stock Harley on the salt flats at around 150mph, setting a new record for his class. His bikes always run really well and he rides the crap out of them. Then there's my broseph, Gene. His only Harley is in boxes, but I don't tease him too much.

I had a friend like that John. F#ckin' Ralph, that is actually what we called him. If you said F#ckin' Ralph to anyone around here they would know who you meant. He had a Sporty in boxes he was always talking about putting together. Took about 15 years but he did finally do it but not after a ton of teasing.I should add that once he finally did it he rode that thing all over the country, I am not sure he ever got off the thing.

I like harleys, just not the price tags. And of course, most DB's out there ride em, that much is true. I would love a street glide, but I'm not gonna buy a bike that costs as much as my F150. Seems insane to me.

My buddy put the bike together from scratch with a Paughco rigid frame and a Harley crate motor (bored and cammed and ported out the wazoo). It's actually been together and running; I've ridden it. What a little monster. More of a pro-street style bike than a chopper or bobber. He took it down to the bare frame again for paint and such and there it sat. Actually I was the one who took it apart, bagging and tagging every piece. He just never got around to paint it. Here it was, several years ago, in the early stages. Needless to say, he's not the kind of yuppie biker scum, the checkbook bikers, I love to mock.

nearly everybody I ride with are Harley riders. So I give them he//, and they return the favor. In fact I went to the Brit bike gathering last night in the Hieghts. Very disapointing. One guy seemed cool until the one and only female member arrived not on a bike at all and don't ride a Brit bike she has a 250 ninja (that she only rides with a wing man). When she arrived it was all attention on her of coarse she talked non-stop. noone else could get a word in any way. She wasn't even very attractive but they gathered around her like buzzards around a carcass. I tried to be cool and sit and listen to her but after the 9th or 10th "oh and like..." I couldn't take anymore. I made my way back to the bar had another Guiness, and then left.

I tell ya Chad that sounds really lame, there are women members here that put miles on their bikes. Wendy (my Ol' Lady) isn't a member of this site but she rides to be sure and it's on an 04 BA. Just did a round trip from north east PA to Orlando Fl. this summer. We are talking about a ride to Yellowstone next summer if we can swing the cost. Seems most of the cool Brit riders in the US tend to go their own way and the groups are for the few left over. I ride with HD riders when I ride with other people besides me and Wendy and that isn't very often since I like to ride not sit at a bar, especially since I don't drink.

I know and love somw ladies that ride and ride well. so my expectations I guess were to high. Once your grown you should leave the "oh, and ah like..." out of conversations as much as possible. what I like around here is the simulance of intellect.

I saw a bunch of guys standing around a bike, so I went over to see what was up. Thought it maybe a cool custom job. It was a broke down Harley, and they were trying to figure out what was wrong with it.
