Hi All,
Since I haven't posted much here, and I don't recognize any names familiar from T-Rat forum, I thought I'd introduce myself (& my bike) with a few pics. This is my first bike, so everything I've done is my fist crack at it. Done all the work myself, except the saddle.

Reading the posts here have been a great help!!

Welcome Dardoonk, Very nice bike BTW! It's a parallel world of sorts. I lurk over on t rat at times to see what's up. As you know we cover & offer input on career counseling, landscape projects, house remodelling, politics (), religion ( ), California, child raising, weather forecasts and even Triumph motorcycles . I have noticed that people with the classic red ones tend to be the most stable & less given to overstatement.

Ride Safe!

Kurt,

Welcome to the board, nice bike.

What kind of handlebars are that, did you have to modify anything to fit them to the bike?

Nice bike, really like the light bar. Just one question though... that sticker on the tank in the 2nd pic - is that custom?

Welcome to the real BA/SM site! and all the mental health help you will get here (from the addiction of spending $$'s and dealing with owning one of the best bikes ever built) at no charge.
Good looking bike. Like some of the others, I would like to know more about the light bar

Welcome to the site Kurt! Now you won't have to wade through all those Bonneville posts to find ones about our bikes.

Fist crack? Ouch, that sounds painful!

Well, I can already tell from the posts there are plenty of opinions here. Hopefully, there is room for one more to offer their own sarcastic wit & wisdom here.
bennybmn, I actually do recognize your name, but I'm not sure how many members here co-exist on T-Rat, so I thought I hang out in both lands.

As for the bars, I am not sure what they are. I found them at a small repair shop in Virgina. They aren't exactly what I wanted, but the price was too good to pass on. They are 1"Diam/ 30"Wide/ 7"Rise/ 5"pullback. I found studs that are 1/2" thread on one end & 10mm on the other. This allows a "stock" HD bar to bolt direct to the America triple tree with no drilling.

I made the light bar myself out of 2" Aluminum strip which I found at Lowe's. I had never done anything like this, and was pretty much winging it. I cut out 67mm semi-circles to fit around the fork shrouds and cut a "V" groove behind where I wanted the sides to bend at. I should have heated the aluminum more because there is a small bit of cracking on this bend when you look close. I finished the front as a separate piece & fitted it in. After that, I polished it's butt off.

The lights are all Kuryakyn Halogen Silver Bullets, small amber in front & large red in rear. The rears are installed in place of the last bolt on the fender chrome. I had to drill the hole out to 5/16". I am considering the run/turn/brake modulator, but haven't decided if I will replace the stock tailight & license bracket with something else, or bob the fender & install the run/turn/brake modulator using only the two Kuryakyn lights for all signals.

Thanks for sharing all your mods. Haven't heard that one before, about those bolts. Do you have a source for these?

Very nice bike. I'd like to get a closer look. There's a Charlotte RAT Pack meeting Thursday night at RiRa's. Should be a real nice night for riding - you should come on down.

I'll talk to the guys at RDU Cycles. They had two used ones in stock and sold them for $10. They retail for $29.95, but I am not sure of the manufacturer.

Welcome! Very Nice Bike! Who did the seat? What lights are those you are using for your turn signals?

Soren, I had the seat done locally by Interiors by Dean, he is mostly a Hot-Rod & Auto interior guy, but has been doing bikes for a couple of years. http://www.interiorsbydean.com/Motorcycle_Seats.htm
All signals are Kuryakyn Halogen Silver Bullets. (small front /large rear)
