Myself : How ya doin tonight? HD guy: Good,,,,,,,thats a nice ride there. Myself: Thanks man,we like it alot [nod toward my beautiful daughter] HD guy: How does it ride? Myself: Brilliantly [said with a sly smile] HD guy:I think that will be my next bike [still cant stop leering at the BA] Myself: That would be a good choice. HD guy: Whats the gas mileage like,,,,better then 35 mpg? [nods towards his 2010 883 sportser] Myself: 45 mpg normally. HD guy: That real good, very nice what yr is it. Myself: 2006,,,,I also have a 07 Tiger that gets roughly the same mileage. Hd guy: [a bit dijected] Have a nice ride. Myself; Thanks dude we will [Its a ba there is no other ride to have]I think to myself as myself and beautiful daughter depart into the night .
and what a wonderful ride home it was.Just enough chill in the air to make ya know its fall.I sure do love this time of the year with an awesome bike and my awesome daughter.

A year ago I ran into a guy admiring my bike at a gas station. He had a Harley he was riding with some Harley budies. He went on about when he was younger him and his brother both had Triumphs and loved them. I told him he was welcome to sit on my bike if he wanted to just to see how it felt. He would not sit on it,his wife walked by with her nose in the air ,she also had her own Harley. I think he did not want to be harassed by his comrads I guess. Oh well,I guess we all can not all be as cool as some. That's ok with me I do not need to be cool in anybody elses eyes.

anyone who would turn up their nose at anyone, for any reason, especially their (awesome) bike, is decidedly NOT cool. those of us who ARE cool just allow them to think they're cool so when we get together with other legit cool people, we can laugh at their undeserved sense of self importance and uncoolness.

Uh huh...yep, Michael. That was probably a very wise more on his part to decline your gracious invitation there. 'Cause as you probably know, it's NEVER a good idea to buck the general consensus. Yep, doin' stuff like THAT can sometimes make one rather unpopular with their comrades and just INVITE harassment!
(...and THIS is the very reason I NEVER differ with any of our fellow comrades around here at BA.com, or otherwise go-against-the-grain in general!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

My impression of said hdguy was that everything he had on had a hd tag on it and it was all new.I swear these guys must take 20 min to get suited up for a ride!I had the feeling that the honeymoon was over with his 883 and he was a wishin for a better decision.I do truly doubt his sincerity to get a trump next as it would make his entire wardrobe obsolete.

Yep Mike, good point there. The poor guy's "Lifestyle"(not to mention his wardrobe) could take a drastic turn in direction if he decided to ignore all the "wise advice" about stickin' with a H-D product he'd probably receive from his fellow H-D ridin' "comrades", and instead, "go his own way"(now where have I heard THAT before, huh???) by purchasin' a Triumph as his next ride! Yep, what will all that guy's comrades think of him(and evidently according to Michael's report here, not to mention how the poor guy's WIFE will feel) if he'd DARE to do THAT, huh?! (...yep, maybe guys like that just ought'a stick with doin' what the majority does, huh?!)

Well, they'd have to catch up to him first to tell them how they feel, so .......

Hello campers,I don't log on a great deal now cause i've gone over to the dark side,I still own a bonneville america, one of the first in Sweden and it's rolled 95000 in the 8 years I've owned it but my ride now is a Harley, not my first but they've come a long way since my first.I'm sorry to say but this Harley beats the Triumph in speed acceleration and looks,ok,the Triumph is still a gubb magnet (gubb...old man,I used to have one those in 1955 so to speak)but the Harley is good, and don't go down the road of me being a Harley fanatic,I like 2 wheels,I also own a Honda CB900F2 Bol,dor from 81 which is also a good ride

Well first Stewe, let me say Happy Birthday to ya today, "Stranger"! (long time, dude!) And secondly, all of the above is of course just your usual "Triumph vs Harley" banter goin' on here. (though, yeah, sometimes some of the Harley owners out there do make "our side" of this whole "Triumph vs Harley" bantering a whole lot easier to think up jokes about, ya know...I guess one might even say that THAT could be part of OUR Triumph "Lifestyle" to some degree, EH?!)

If they had an @ss they would be leathers and not chaps. LOLOLOL, I do like my @ss less chaps though. keeps the jeans clean.

I've just travelled in the opposite direction-having run a twin cam for 25k miles and before that a 1200 sporty for the same distance. Frankly I will never buy another twincam HD- they keep saying they have sorted things mechanically -and they keep breaking when the miles go on. I do miss the the torque of the harley, but nothing else...and I ride with a club which is almost totally HD oriented- nowadays theres always a small crowd round my Triumph when its stopped and its pretty competent when its running too. Each to their own ride,I know, but I for one am not going back there.

Sheetz are popular in Maryland/Virgina and they sell a killer brand of cheese doodles too. Anyway, I distinctly recall this past September 13, 2010 while at the Quik Star Store in Lansing Iowa (blocks away from the Mighty Mississippi) a conversation I had with an old timer on a beamer while at the fuel pump. He walked up to me and asked, "So what do you think of our President" Now THAT was different! Needless to say in observation of the AUP suffice it say that he and I both were of the same opinion! Yeah we got around to talking old trumpets too.

Eeeh, not really. 'Cause ya see, even though it was you who ventured into this here territory(and I AIN'T talkin' "Iowa" OR "Arizona" here, ya understand), I seriously doubt either Larry or anybody else around here would take offense to what you and/or I just said here.
