Rattle can that speedo black.The front wheel looks like it is off a 450 Honda twin from 1985,a guy at work has one.It also looks like it could have came off a 80's Suzuki.Maybe they are going to offer the extra disc brake as an option.Another way to make money on parts after the sale.I do like my Speedmaster dual disc up front,good brakes,have save me a couple of times and a couple a dogs,and deer.

Yes I looked at the wheel and thought the same...still at least they're not as bad as Honda Comstar-anyone recall those monstrosities?

 Nah...just meaning a little smaller is all. They just seemed to have put some of the T-bird styling into the design. I'm not a big fan of the T-bird (yes, I've ridden one)I think they have taken some of the best parts though and adapted them to the Speedmaster. No bike will ever be perfect, but none the less and nice start, I think.

I didn't notice the lack of dual discs on the new SM, another change I don't like, I like my dual disc brakes.
I have thought it a shame ever since the BA lost the spoked wheels.

The specs are up today and they are still saying twin discs up front on the speedy? And I'm sorry but I am not a fan of the skinnier tire up front. Its also saying a inch lower seat hight I wounder if the suspension is dropped or less seat padding.

I like that fat tire on the new BA, I wonder if the fender support has changed. If it has I may need to buy one to raise my fender some. I am in need of a new tire for next season and would like to put a fatter one up there but don't want to cut the center out of the support.

specs say it is still a 110/90 R18 in the front of the ba.
but there is no way it is a 110. look at the pics of the 10 and 11. i'm guessing its a 130.
If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

Spoke to dealer today and he has been to the launch in Cologne, Germany and seen them in the flesh. He thinks he will double the sales on the America because it is lower, the pegs are closer and the bars are narrower. He says he lost sales over the years as the bike did not fit a significant number of his potential customers.
of the Speedmaster (again lower, closer and narower), he said it looked fantastic.
Had a good look at the dealer guide on his system and there are quite a few mods.
Will have a good look at the NEC Show next month.

If they're going to be mixing and matching parts and pieces between all the twins, they really need to let people, perhaps for a small surcharge, order their friggin bike from the factory just the way they want it. Car companies let you do that (or used to). Not just the silly little configurator they had on the company site. I'm talking about being able to place an order, and not just view accessories. Pick your wheels, pick your front end, pick your color, pick your seat, pick your nose, pick your bars, pick your style of fenders, etc. Give us "stock" options and give us premium options.
(I was just seeing if you were paying attention.)
Again this will never happen because there's probably no valid business case that would get Bloor to implement it. I'm sure the numbers probably don't work from a business standpoint.

I'm not sure if I like them or not yet. The indicators being put under the headlight with the bigger tyre and front guard makes the TBA look vaguely like a Suzuki Boulevard and the S/M looks vaguely 900 Kawasaki custom.A single front brake on the S/M,plus no knee indents in tank. If I was buying new I'd still take one before buying any other brand

And stainless double walled headers on both
Twin 310mm disc, Nissin 2-piston floating calipers

I think it's about time they got rid of the dual disc front brakes. The only advantage is better heat dispersment, (which matters during 2 up, steep downgrade, riding if you're in the wrong gear). I love the new wheels and think they deserve to be shown off. It drives me nuts to see a custom wheel hidden behind a big, ugly disc brake getting covered with brake dust. I would never give up braking performance to look better, but the stopping distance remains unchanged.

Good point here, John. But yeah, I think you probably answered your own question with your final line there.
And, as you mentioned in that "Upgrade" thread, Mr. Bloor seems to have made very few business errors since he re-started this company.
(...well, of course, except for that ONE glaring business error of his by never offerin' up a FACTORY BIG BORE OPTION for our bikes, anyway)

I both agree and disagree with this. I agree about hiding the wheel but as far as heat dispersement goes I think that is a good thing.I hear about BAs having warped rotors but not so much on the SM. I know Wendy had a warped rotor but mine are fine. As far as I have seen most if not all warped rotors have been on the single disced bikes. I like the perimeter disc that allows you to see the wheel with the disc around the outside of the rim.

I like all the new models. Hitting the parts bin and mixing and matching stuff has always kinda been a triumph thing. Besides the bobbed fender the new speedy looks awesome. I want thos triple trees and forks. Wheels are slick too, still rather have spoked wheels. And I do kinda like the older bigger headlight. Gotta see em in person to make my mind up. The pegs look new as well, look sweet. Again, the only thing I really hate is the tank. I'd put a bonnie tank on a new speedy as well. Triumph has hit a homerun IMO. That t-bird storm is pretty cool looking as well, although I'm not a big t-bird fan. New america looks great too with that beefy wheel. Can't wait to see these things up close.
2008 Speedy, AI removed, DIY airbox destruction with K&N filters, spectres, re-jetted and "custom" rattle can paint job.

With the design updates, that tank finally looked like it works on the Speedmaster, before, it looked like it was just thrown on.
The America has a HD look to the front fender, but looks good.
The T Birds ,look great, the Storm too.

As far as the front wheels go the America goes from an 18" to a 16" so I guess the mudguard and bracket would fit the old models. The speedmaster goes from an 18" to a 19"
thats according to a write up in MCN.

Dont seem to be on their website but to quote the newspaper.
" The Americas front wheel shrinks in size from 18" to 16" and the rear wheel is redesigned to match the new style, seat height is now 690mm(30mm lower). The Speedmaster also gets a different front wheel, growing an inch from 18" to 19", bars are lower and wider, seat height also 690mm."

Not sure I'm a fan of that. The Bonny SE looks a little light up front with the smaller wheel on it, why do it to a cruiser? Just to put a fatter but shorter tire on it?

Speaking of the standard Bonnie line Dave, I wonder why if you'd want any model of those with the spoke wheels, that those still only come with that less-than-clean looking kink on the exhaust system, and that all the models with the 17in cast wheels have that MUCH cleaner looking exhaust set-up???
