I'm not sure if this is the place to post this or not, but here goes:

After a speeding ticket almost cost me my job I decided to look into radar detectors and found these: http://234motorsports.com/2-3-4_Motorsports/Shopping.html
So I added them for sale on the website (I just run the site, my father runs the shop).

The detector is manufactured by Adaptiv Technologies and designed specifically for motorcycles. The detector itself puts out an audible tone, the L.E.D. light comes with it, and there is an optional wireless headset that slips into your helmet.

The optional ZRX Adaptivmount part # is: D-01-06

Pricing can be found at the link above.

Also if anyone has suggestions for the website, I'm all ears.

Thanks - David

Radar detectors are illegal in some states. In Virginia, for example, radar detectors are illegal. If you are caught, you will get a $40 fine for having one.

Don'i waste your time or money. They don't work. If the officer zaps you, you cant slow fast enough to beat radar....Angelis

Sorry for the problems with the link. If the link continues to fail, try www.234motorsports.com . Then go to shopping.

Thanks for your opinion angelis. Have you personally tried this unit? They have great reviews that say they work excellent. The Adaptiv Technologies TPX has been tested by multiple magazines, won plenty of awards, and has great testimonials. Links to just some of the magazines that have tested the TPX can be found at the link posted above and at http://www.adaptivtechnologies.com/gear . I'm wondering what you're basing your opinion on? If you have personal experience with the unit that goes against what these other credible sources are saying then by all means let me know. I don't want us selling a product that doesn't work.

Mine works great-but a user needs to know how they work and where to be prudent. In my experience the TPX works great when there are other targets on the road. It picks up the reflection off the cars/trucks. If you are in "space" by yourself then you are the "rabbit" and you better behave. Like most things, it's a tool and if used properly does it's intended function.

David, Angelis has been around here for a very long time.
He is a LEO and I would trust his opinion on the detectors.
Just sayin

I'm not bad mouthing him. I honestly want to know what he's basing this off of because all of my research tells me that these systems work great. If they don't then I want to know.

Wether they accurately detect the laser (almost impossible as a laser emits a tiny dot which would have to be right on the sensor for it to work) is irrelevant. As Angelis pointed out, even if it DOES successfully detect the laser/radar gun it's too late, you've already got the ticket. It's not like the old days where a radar would emit a huge wide-band signal that you could pick up before it worked out your speed. It all happens in a second or two these days, no way you can slow down that fast.

as a physicist and designer of lasers for NASA and other DOD angecies, I agree with the comments about laser detectors. Once it goes off, it's too late!
I still run a detector in my car and for radar it has saved my butt many many times!

I don't go that fast on the bike, speed doesnt trip my trigger like it used to...acceleration, now thats a different story!

Angelis knows his stuff. But I knows some stuff too. If LEO the
Lion points his favorite toy at you and goes "click", you're screwed.
If he nails somebody ahead of you, you're fine. I have had
detectors go off up to 12 miles ahead of the radar trap,
and that was years ago, when they weren't as good as they are
today. If your county is short on revenue and sends out some
mobile tax collectors, they more than likely will do it at
a time with more than a little bit of traffic. And there's a
good chance somebody in front of you a ways is speeding. So
their tears are your salvation. And if your radar detector
catches 2 revenue collection sites and you slow down and pootle on by,
it has paid for itself. Now if you're going the
speed of light in a speed of sound zone, your screwed.
If you're the only one on the road, same thing.
But ifn you ain't halfway to stupid yet, you have a chance.
