I just took the bike 07 America out of winter storage (basically covered in my shed for the last four months) and gave it a bit of dusting off. I noticed some surface corrosion on the carb bodies. Any suggestions on cleaning this up and what do you use for corrosion protection.

I purchased a roll of VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) blue plastic a while back, 4 FT X 100 FT for $25 dollars from Ebay, I believe the shipping was $25 as well, any metallic object is chemically protected from oxidation when wrapped or in enclosed proximity with this stuff, I live on the perimeter of a rain forest and I got tired of things rusting and oxidizing, solved my situation pretty much

Plastic rap sounds extreme. Here in the Sonoran desert in the states I just spray the engine down with a lite coating of a lite penetrating oil.I use the Amsoil Metal protector it is recommended for spraying on your guns,so I figure that ought to help prevent some corrosion. If the engine is clean,it makes it shine really good after you spray it on and dirt does not attract to it to bad.The can of metal protector is not priced bad either ,around $3.50 US,which is much cheaper than the motorcycle engine sprays for the black painted engines.I even spray the frame with this stuff, cheap and works good for me.

You don't have to wrap the whole bike, just a small strip laying over the carbs, while in storage does the trick, the military went this route vs.cosmoline a long time ago, actually, I bought the stuff so I could leave a dismantled gun in my unheated shop on the bench until I could get back to it or the parts arrived, but yeah, there are a lot of protectant type of sprays for sale, just google anti-corrosion
