My America is a 2002 and still has the original battery (Knock on Wood) and has never let me down, I do not even put it on a battery tender and a couple seasons it was stored in my unheated storage unit. Every spring so far I open up the door, pull the bike out, turn on the gas and turn the key crank it and it starts right up. Don't get discouraged about your bike, there have been others here with battery issues. Try putting a good battery in it after the stealership checks your charging system and see what happens. These are great bikes!
