Gotta agree with Ian here. Nope, that would NOT be considered "lane splitting", but IN FACT would be considered sheer STUPIDITY!!!!

My commute is more fun (and a little less likely to end in he||).

For those in Portland, my commute is picking up Skyline @ Cornell -- Skyline to Germantown to Cornelius Pass... I get to work in a GOOD mood!

I agree - sheer stupidity.

If he tried that here in England he would last about 15 seconds before someone would pull an unsignalled lane change on him!!

He couldn't do that here and survive even one trip. The cage drivers here change lanes like jockeys on the home straight.

I was squirming in my chair and swearing at the monitor just watching that. (but nonetheless, I watched it twice) At first I was wondering how that guy could straddle the bike with cojones like that. But then I realized he probably stuffed them in his skull because he was missing half his brain and there was enough empty space there. They'll be picking pieces of him off the asphalt someday. Entertaining to watch...

I was getting motion sick watching that.

Wow! I was waiting for the end where he give a "thumbs up" and then he would clumsily drop the bike or get hit by a truck coming from the side. (I watch to many movies.)

Because of guys like that, is why people think all riders, ride like that.

I think the whole vid is made to look faster than it is because of the cameras small lens.

Dear graduate,

When he was white lining between his flow and oncoming traffic, slow or not that was freaky.

Maybe Life is still cheap in those parts so perhaps the idiot saw an opportunity to get noticed and become famous or something. If that is indeed the case, the diff between there and Aus would be, we'd use rubber gloved hands, careful scraping and a body bag to recover his bits whilst they'd probably just get a square nosed shovel and a two heavy duty plastic bags. To be honest I'd prefer the second option myself cos why should I respect this flog when he obviously doesn't respect other road users and their safety?

Blimey! good job they didnt show the small child riding pillion.

To be honest it did look a bit "sped up" but nothing different from a lot of dispatch riders going through Central London at rush hour.

Good forward vision and the guy certainly knows the bike but dangerous and reckless riding none the less.

Yeah, but Graham, I'm kind'a thinkin' that guys like you, Eddy, and few others around here in the E.M.T. profession are in a way actually kind'a glad to see guys like this doin' crazy-azz stuff like this on a motorcycle, aren't ya???

Well to be honest for every bike accident I go to I probably go to 20 or so cage accidents so no worries on the job front.

At the end of the day the guy is dangerous but consider that he's not texting, phoning his mate, playing around with his gps system, changing CD's, tuning a radio, applying make up, controlling children and pets, lighting up a smoke or eating a sandwich.

So I'd say he's probably more in tune to what is going on around him than all those "safe" car drivers he's passing.

But still you can't condone riding like that.

In anycase I'll probably be serving big mac's in Pittsfield before too long so road safety will probably be a lesser priority than making sure that each burger has enough lettuce in it.

Around these parts that's kind of normal.
What would you say Dwight?

Ummmmmm...well, let me think about that for a second here, T-man.

YEAH!!! I'd SAY so!!!

Yep, I'd sure as heck like to have a nickle for every cager/motorcyclist/scooter rider who passed me on the right while I was over there in Greece...among the many other "less than sane" driving antics I witnessed!

In touch with what he is doing, paying close attention or not all it would take is 1 person to open a door or make a fast turn and he is toast.

This nut job is on borrowed time. I love his extra lane he makes over the double white line on the left side and opposing traffic does not seem to bother him at all.

It made me dizzy just watching on the screen. Just one Muskovite opening his door to hawk up a chunk of phlegm would end his day really fast.

Gosh this was nostaligic...I spent a little time in Russia(Soviet Union in those days) in the early '80s and not been back since..
architecture is pretty much the same but the traffic is much much more.....
Most traffic then consisted of small convoys of street sweepers(full employment policy) and the rest were an occasional Moskvitch/Lada car and LOADS of 350c.c 2 stroke Jawa's with sidecars....cant really picture one of these lane splitting like this guy did!
