Okay then, I will try and say this again. I own a Triumph Speedmaster which in my opinion is the best motorcycle I have ever owned. I have owned many motorcycles in my lifetime so I feel I am pretty knowledgable in this field of what I like about this bike. I have made many changes and customized many things to make it what I want in a motorcycle.

Now this company that originally made this motorcycle has decided to class this bike as a good learners bike and believe me when I say it is good for learners as well. To then make the assumption that everyone who owns these motorcycles are "learners" that need to "upgrade" to a real bike which in my opinion looks like crap, is an insult.

Sure the Tbird has more power and makes a better tourer, I admit that and if that is what you want I am cool with that but it is not an "upgrade" but a step in another direction.

The things I like about the America, Speedmasters and Bonnevilles is that they are retro and I love the engine. I love the way it looks with the twin cylinders being reminiscant of the old twins which I also love. I have no need for the extra power of the Tbird as I also own a 1978 kz1000 that really hauls and is retro. So why does this company now label me as a learner rider because I own and enjoy a motorcycle that they obviously see as somehow being less than a Tbird. They have lost touch my friend.

If I were to buy another motorcycle at the moment I would look at a Thruxton or a T100 and make it cafe racer style so I would have a retro looking sport type motorcycle. I may even lean towards a Norton because I like them too. I do have to stress though that they are not upgrades but merely different motorcycles. A step sideways maybe but not up or down. This "upgrade" thing is what annoys me about Harley riders that believe if you ride anything other than a Harley you have not yet realised and upgraded to their level.

So if you still don't get it, then it dos'nt really matter to me because I get it, I ride it and I live it. You are welcome to ride with me anytime as I don't care what you ride. I only care what I ride. It is a choice, not an upgrade. To be the fastest is not always the coolest or the best.
