Good day all, I am currently researching my new motorcycle and have decided on the 2010 Speedmaster. I'm currently riding a 2008 KLR650 and am used to their KLR650.net forum. Maybe some of you could point me in the right direction as to where I can get some good information on the Speedmaster (on this forum). I've done a lot of on line research and have been to the dealer in Columbus Ohio so I know this is my next bike but I'd like to get some first hand personal information on why you guys like these bikes.
Thanks,
bmg3738

Just do some reading around the forum, just about anything you want to know has been discussed here. Any specific questions you have will be answered under what ever heading it fits under. If you post in the wrong forum it will simply be moved. The good Friar loves doing that.

Welcome Bruce,

The Speedmaster and America are 2 of the nicest cruisers around. You won't be able to stop for long without someone asking you about the bike. They are unique. They handle very well, are quite powerful with an engine that is bulletproof. Will give a 1200 Sportster a run for it's money. Engine can be upgraded to 904, 988, 994, 1087 and 1200cc if you have the bucks. Plenty of accesories to choose from and this is a great website for info.

The Speedmaster has dual discs up front and is blacked out with lower handlebars and is set up for solo riding.

The America has a single disc, a lot more chrome, pillion seat and more laid back riding position with the bars wider apart and further back.

Same displacement for both.

Welcome! America or Speedmaster, you'll be a winner either way!

Welcome bmg.I got my bike cas it was love at first sight. That was in 02.My bike now is an 05 speedy, lowered, chromed right out with bb and custom paint. It rest in a cozy heated garage beside another custom painted lowered speedy with america bars that is a pleasure to ride.If you go the Triumph speedy or america route you'll see first hand why 99% of the people on here love there bikes and I'm 99% sure you'll love yours too.Don't let steve fool you, the black america's are fast but when we're talkin speedmasters, there red and black.

Hi and welcome....I'm late to these bikes having similarly researched thoroughly and decided to bale of of the wonderful world of HD(long boring story). I needed a bike with few known problems and the capacity to run to big mileages with minimal fussing...(ok I loved the look too) and bought a new TBA end of June....its fair to say that, 3500 miles later and though I still occasionally miss the sound of the twincam, I miss nothing else and now wouldnt change for anything.Enjoy

Al-oh yes, nice bunch on here too...very helpful and knowledgeable lot.
