I reckon it was good the "trade up" comment was brought up actually cos for some reason that's really what I thought it must be.

To be honest I haven't spoken about the bike to anyone than those that have them and of course they love theirs. Me, I'm indecided whether I would want or even need one but it appears it's been an almost taboo subject on here to even talk about At least that's the impression I've had. So I guess speaking to the owners I may have been brainwashed I'm not sure really. What I do know is, I just don't like the look of it's radiator much and I'm not a fan of looking down at the
speedo either. They are little things I guess. I also know I have an attachment to my SM that I'm not sure I'd want to break. He is like a good mate of mine with lots of history together. Sounds stupid but I'm loyal like that. I was surprised to hear the comment about the SM being faster though. That was a joke right? Regardless, my bike offers me everything I need and more and 99% of the time I ride solo so there's no issues there either.

Anyway, there does seem to be some emotion on this subject and I certainly didn't want to tap into those as I did inadvertently. I do think it's healthy to say what you think though cos I prefer straight talkers as I can tend to be one myself. You always know where you stand with people if they say it the way they see it too. No, we don't always have to agree either but I do dislike half truths and people who aren't entirely honest with themselves either.

Funny how I can start talking about bolt tapping and end up speaking about straight talkers

Thanks again to everyone for your suggestions. You won't believe how satisfying it was to feel that stubborn screw move. It really made my day. This site has still "got it" that's for sure and I really hope it stays that way.

Now, back to servicing Ferdie for my first descent ride for 2 months. Me and a couple of mates are venturing into Ned Kelly country

Cheers my friends
