looks to me like you joined in 05. whatevs. good news everyone! tomorrow at noon i'll be officially joining your ranks, and i'm totally stoked about it. stupid ironhead's gonna get the chop, i'll show it what happens to bikes that mess with me. here's the new one, i'm sure it's been mentioned, but it's a 2007, 450 miles, bone stock, all receipts (which i can't imagine is many!)and supposedly in pristine condition. if it's legit, y'all just made a new friend. except lummox, he just got stuck with an old one now i've got to go make room in the garage (chores... life can be so hard!) next to the old iron and start organizing all the ideas for what i want to do to both bikes.

That's a pretty bike.
That little bit of red shouldn't slow it down too much.

Very nice score Steve. I love a blank canvas when it looks so good before you even start. You could always color in the red bit to make it go faster.

Reflectors definitely gotta go. Other than that, the only for sure cosmetic mods will be to bob the rear fender, lower it, and that sweet solo seat on british ebay. It'll be at least a couple days before I start in on that stuff though.
Edit: bar end mirrors and something done about the unsightly pumpkins. Those too.

the seeds aren't bad if they're seasoned just right. used to love the pie as a kid... now it's just gooey gross mush.
and the turn indicators, they gotta go too.

Congrats on your acquisition--you show very good taste. Now don't go putting a pair of pinwheels on the handlebar ends or something

How about tassles?
Anyway, I just got back. 200 miles and I'm pretty much floored. Granted, this is only the second bike I've ridden, and first non harley. I never knew a motorcycle could be so smooth or quiet! And it's all mine.
I'm also seeing why a product why the intiminator exists (silly name, though). Definitely gotta research those and the springs and see which or combination of the two will be appropriate for me.

Congratulations! I love it when a story has a happy ending. It got a little tense in the middle when you were talking Thruxton, though. ps: I had tassles on my 02 TBA until the peer pressure and ridicule became too much and I took them off.

i still want a thruxton. i just couldn't convince myself that a thruxton would be a good only-working-bike-in-my-garage.
by the time i can afford a thrux, though, i'm sure i'll be far more elitist about cafe racers and want something far more expensive. we'll see. screw a thruxton, i love my speedmaster!
