Anyone who took part in the ride through Wootton Basssett this year will know how memorable it was to offer thanks to the town for the way it treats our fallen servicemen and women and show our support for troops serving in conflicts abroad. Plans for next years ride are now in hand and this will be the final ride as RAF Lyneham closes next year and no more repatriations will be passing through Wootton Bassett. Updated information on next years ride is available on the facebook page Ride of Respect 2011.

Registration for the Wootton Bassett ride and other regional rides opens at 5pm on Wednesday, 27th October. Registration will be on the Afghan Heroes website and is expected to be heavily oversubscribed for the Wootton Bassett ride but regional rides will be taking place all over the country and these will be regarded as part of the same ride - all bikers riding for the same cause. See 'Ride of Respect 2011, on facebook for further details and listen to Julia Stevenson, the ride organiser, on Biker FM at 18.45-19.15 on Monday evenings.

Following earlier problems the registration for this ride opens on the Afghan heroes website at 7pm this wednesday,24th November. The ride is now restricted to 10,000 bikes. Good luck to anyone hoping to get on the ride, it was a memorable event this year

Re-http://www.rideofrespect.org.uk/souvenir.htm I have just received a refund with a note saying that due to low demand it was impossible to achieve the volume of sales at the prices offered,

Although I have already signed up for the next run, I can't say I am supprised - I think they are doing too much to milk the support they got this year.
I think that they are pushing it by doubling the entry "donation" and then expecting people to fork out a further £17.00 for the souvenir pack.

Ride of Respect 2011
A few of us (including Paul (Babrat) and Jools) have booked the Alexandra House Hotel near Swindon for the Saturday 2nd April. I am on an early slot in the morning so best take it easy the night before (no chance of that happening eh).
Wouldn't miss it for the world.

A group of us from the Calne/Chippenham area are on the 9-10 slot, so might see you all there.
