My wife is the legislative aid for a Maryland State Delegate for the past two terms. For this term, he decided to run against the sitting Republican State Senator who has been in the position for five terms. The wife's boss is a conservative and the sitting Senator has become pretty liberal, which doesn't fly well in this rural MD county.

Yesterday was our primary election and her guy beat the sitting Senator. He's unopposed in the Primary in October, so it's looking pretty good.

It was a pretty vicious campaign and my wife has been working 6-7 days per week on activities in addition to her normal work duties. I'll be glad to have her back.

I volunteer as an Election Official and served as a Chief Judge yesterday. With my work travel, it's a small way to participate in local stuff. It was a 16 hour day yesterday, but I enjoy working the polling place and meeting the voters.

I made it to a victory party. This picture was taken at midnight. I'm the goofy looking guy on the left holding the sign above my head. I was at my precinct at 5:45 AM, so that smile is a flat-dead-on-my-feet goofy grin.
