I have a 2002 Bonneville America with the stock pipes which are rated at 80db(decibels). I wanted to get louder pipes (not obnoxious loud but loud enough if that means anything) and hopefully black ceramic ones. Reading some of the posts I did come across mention that the bubs are good. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your time. Cheers.

Don't rush your decision , deals here, craigslist and ebay come along actually quite often, and if you explore our forum, you can find the techniques for doing a "bafflelectomy" on your existing pipes yourself, better pipes are only part of the equation of the power gain achievable with these great engines we love so much, me, I like Epco s, really though, they are all pretty good as far as I can tell, or speaking arbitrarily, I feel strongly both ways, so I have an '06 that sounds like a Singer sewing machine and a '05 that will awaken the dead

I like gutted stock slash cut pipes. If you go the gutted route be sure to leave the reducer cone in the front end of the pipe so you keep enough back pressure. I have gutted stock tapered pipes that I cut to make long cannons. Wendy has short slash cut Emgo pipes if I remember right. To go with a more free flow exhaust you need to make your intake more free flow too to realize the potential gain. Should also eliminate the AI if it is still on there.

I have Epco pipes too. Not as loud as some pipes but louder than many. It's all a matter of choice and how loud you want them. Epco is stainless steel. That was an attraction for me because they don't rust however if you're going to go black ceramic the rust wont be an issue. My favorite sounding pipes(and I've heard a lot of pipes) are the Septre pipes. Deep and pretty darn loud.

Bubs sound good, but there have been some rust/quality issues lately. As mentioned, don't rush your purchase. You don't list your location, but go to an event and listen to different pipes before you decide. The exhaust note preference is very subjective.
They can be a bit loud, but I love my Specialty Spares. They also look as new as the day they were installed (7 years, 37,000 miles back)

You guys are all awesome, I appreciate the feedback. Maybe customizing my stocks could be an option, I look around on the forums and see if there are any notes regarding how to. Does AI mean the Air Intake? Cheers

You can get some customized stock pipes from Chevy605 and he will buy your old stock pipes too. He sells on Ebay and is a member here. Cheaper to do your own though. You can also tune the sound to what you want. Take one baffle out and put them back on to see if it is what you want and if not pop em back off and take another one out and try again.

Air Injection, if you still have yours installed, buy a plug/removal kit, as your first upgrade

The AI elimination kit is very easy to do.

Super easy, at least for me, pull your tank after you get one of the available kits, start by finding the chrome vertical tubes adjacent to your S. plugs and start removing the system, follow it as far as the air box, it all goes away, any probs, there are at least 200 people on this forum to get you plumbed back up and back on track 24/7

Have to plus the tubes next to the spark plugs, plug the vacuum line on the left intake and plug the hose to the air box. Then 2 screws to remove the vacuum pump.
