I've gotten into the habit at gas stations of either not taking off much gear while I gas up (usually just gloves these days) or after I'm done filling just gear back up and say, "seeya," and take off. In the early days I'd be there forever. At some point you just gotta cut and run. Oh I'll still talk to them for a it, but I gotta cut them off.
