How do I get that last bit of gas out of the tank? I drained it into a can from the petcock and when that stopped, I removed the petcock from the tank and tried to pour the rest out through that hole. There's still gas in there and I can't seem to get it out...

Are you sure there is still some in there? It's kind of dark in that tank, maybe you should hold a match close to it to see...

Don't you know? I just post jibberish here for the sheer joy of posting jibberish. I offer no nutritional value.

Take out in the sun, let it warm up, then if you have air compressor, blow it out. This will also evaporate the miniscule amount of fuel left in there.

Yup, this method will work very well, even without the compressed air. Just take the cap off and let 'er evaporate. Watcha doing with your tank?

He's probably sending it out to chrome. He rides with Dave, and I've always sensed a lot of envy there...

Turn it upside down and drain it thru the filler neck. Then let the wee bit that remains evaporate.

Thanks guys. I did try to dump it out of the top too. I will try to let it sit out when the rain clears off tomorrow. If there's still some, I'll hit it with the air compressor.
Hey Keith...What I'm doin is handing over my fenders, tank, and side cover on Monday cause I'z gettin me a custom paint job!!! I'm like a little kid on the last day of school and can't wait. I'm not doing a graphic thing but it won't be necessarily simple. You all will see, of course I will post pics immediately when i get her back. Painter said he needed it for a week.

Dang man, sorry I wasn't here in your time of need.
But it sounds like the comments from the peanut gallery have sufficed.
(I'll try to be available sooner next time )
And you may see me tonight

I know I'm a little late, and you fixed it...but. Maybe someone else could use this. Rubbing alcohol evaporates faster than gasoline. Pour some in with the gas and do the cap off/in the sun thing. It will mix w/the gas and speed things up. It also evap's w/o leaving any residue behind.
