I ordered the summer screen windshield mounting kit from my closest dealer and it did not come with the lower brackets. All the other hardware is there along with the washers, gaskets and fittings to hook up the lower brackets. He told me the lower brackets are not included and they are $35 each. Is this the case? If so soes anyone no where I could find some used brackets. Thanks Will

That doesn't sound right. If you order a mounting kit, all the mounting hardware should be included. Have the dealer make it right.

Huh... when I bought a Roadster screen from Triumph it came with all necessary hardware. A complete package. I'd have to think the same thing be true about the Summer screen.

The lower brackets are indeed separate. The upper fixing kit is universal between the roadster and summer screens, while the lower brackets are unique to each type of screen.

Also, the upper yoke brackets are NOT included in the upper fixing kit.

I've detailed all this complete with part numbers.

clicky

Keith, you bought the kit, so all the parts are in. When you order the parts separately, you have to select the type of brackets you need and upper yoke brackets. From the post, the poster says he orderd the mounting kit... I take it that isn't with the windshield.

Right, I missed that. How I don't know (well, actually I do) but I missed that.

That still seems kind of stupid. The dealer should at least mention it when ordering since he was obviously aware...
Kind of like hey, can you sell me everything for an oil change, and you get the oil, a funnel, and a new crush washer. Then after you get it he tells you the filter doesn't come in the "kit".

Thanks guys. I went back to the dealer and picked up some new mirrors and talked with them at length about the mount kit problems. They researched it again and came up with the same conclusion but then decided that it wasn't right so they gave me a great discount for the lowers. At least they are trying to help me out. Looking at what I needed to fab it would be just about as much by the time I finished the job. So now I can order me a Clear View shield and be done with it. Thanks again.

At least they are trying to help you out. Is your dealer the one in Eldorado Springs?

Hi Will...not sure what your knowledge is of installing a Clearview on your bike. I've been through the hoops regarding the above, so may be able to offer some insight here. You need the Triumph Roadster Screen mounting kit for the Clearview install. That kit does not come with the 3 chrome straps you see on the Triumph screen. You can't order them. You don't need them! Have Clearview drill only the 4 main mounting holes in your new screen, not the 5 others you won't be using. Also, when your dealer orders the bracket kit, the 2 Upper Yoke Brackets are not included....that's a seperate order....I can get you the order number if you want it. I can also supply you with the name and phone number of the main Man at Clearview so you can discuss your order. Not sure if any of this is a help to you, But if you have any questions.....just ask.

Unless he gets the Clearview Summer Screen, then he already has the required hardware.

Yep, Randy the owner got involved and is helping me out. He seems to be a really good guy.
