Well Ian, I think there was once a poll taken among the motorcycle cognoscenti, and it was determined that any "suspension" that supplies the rider with only about an inch of travel is really no suspension at all.
(...and so I think your addition of "of sorts" at the end of your sentence was extremely advisable!)
